Strasbourg

From France with little to no love

Recently I received a package that I had mailed to myself from France. The package was mailed in mid December, and it was received in the middle of February. Being the idiot that I am, I could not find the package slip with the tracking number on it, and after the first month went by, I was sure the French had lost my package.

Hiking in the Vosges

This past weekend I went hiking in the Vosges Mountains with a friend from Krav Maga as well as with a bunch of other people he knows. The site was about an hour drive from Strasbourg. It was a lot of fun, and it was definitely nice to get out of the city for the day and breathe the air see some trees.

I left the house at 9:30 in the morning and didn’t come back till around 6! That’s a long time. The place we went hiking to was the site of an old chateau, called Fleckenstein. It sits right on the border of France and Germany in northern Alsace, near a town called Gimbelhof.

Tying up loose bureaucratic ends

Today was a big taking care of business day. If you can believe it, I finally got my bank card. It’s hysterical because for the past two weeks I’ve been receiving all this mail from the bank with messages about “top secret” numbers… so many numbers!

Milk, cow excrement, and me

I was walking back to my apartment after class, innocently listening to my Lullabot Drupal podcast. I was looking forward to eating a beautiful éclair, topped with whipped cream and strawberries.

That horrible sinking feeling

Here's a typical story of how I get lost every day. I got invited to a party and I needed to take a bus route to get there. Knowing how bad I am at getting around, I planned every step out meticulously on the internet, using maps etc. The whole 9 yards. I planned on catching a 6:55 bus that's basically right outside of my house.
