My First San Francisco Drupal Meetup
December 13, 2011 - 1:47am
Tonight I went to my first Drupal meet up in San Francisco. It was different from all the monthly meet-ups I have been to back on the East Coast. It was more of a formal presentation format with hanging out at the end. It is interesting that they control the group through meetup.com- I honestly feel like every single in-person group event in this city is coordinated through meetup.com. Anyway... here are some things I heard about:
- Open Outreach, a Drupal distro aimed at grass roots organizations and non-profits. I wonder what it actually does...
- Quickstart, for getting up and running with a LAMP environment fast
- Drubuntu
- Drupal for FaceBook module: a robust framework for hosting FaceBook apps on a Drupal server and making them talk to one another. As of right now, the user customization options for how Drupal talks with FaceBook are fairly limited from the GUI
